Nude America the movie is a documentary film that explores the nudist/ naturist lifestyle from an insider point of view. In the summer of 2004 Lan and Taira Lamphere were introduced to the nudist lifestyle when they were hired to cover Oaklake Trails Naturists Resort for a well known naturist magazine. Since that first visit Lan and Taira decided that the subject was worthy of more recognition than two pages in a magazine already being circulated amongst the nudist community.
It was at that point that production on Nude America began. The film follows Lan and Taira's journey since becoming nudists and aims to raise awareness about the nudist/ naturist lifestyle to those outside of the community.
The journey, as well as the film, begins at Oaklake Trails Naturist Resort in Oklahoma and then moves on the most controversial nudist / lifestyle resort in America, Caliente Clothing Optional Resort - Tampa Florida and then on to Texas. The couple's discoveries as they embark on this adventure dispel many of the common myths and stigmas associated with the nudist lifestyle, and explore topics and subjects rarely openly discussed in the naturist / nudist community much to the naturist chagrin.
Along the way Lan and Taira have interviewed not only those in the nudist/ naturist lifestyle but theologians, professors, and political personalities. As a result the film expresses political, religious, and social commentary, points of view and opinions from various social backgrounds.
Nude America is scheduled to be released in August of 2009. Run time is approximately two hours and is already considered the most comprehensive documentary film ever produced regarding the subject of nudity in the west. |
